How it started

Orlagh and Cat are both one-man-show entrepreneurs. We started our journey together by meeting up for coffee once in a while to share our business stories, ask for advice, and support each other. We found this so beneficial that we decided to create a network opportunity for other kitchen table businesses as well.

How it's going

We organise 6 networking events for micro business owners per year. At these events entrepreneurs can join us for an interactive gathering in an outdoor setting, where they can meet other small business owners, have the opportunity to share their stories and showcase their hard work and commitment.

For many freelancers and small business owners, the end-of-year office party doesn’t happen. Simply because there’s no office and no colleagues to celebrate with. As a solo entrepreneur you are the team, which means missing out on the classic Christmas party experience. This year, that’s all about to change. Orlagh and Cat from Beneath the Canopy are lighting up the holiday season by bringing small business owners together to celebrate 2025; the wins, the challenges, and everything in between. So, dust off the Christmas jumper, get ready to raise a glass, and join us on Thursday the 27th of November from 7 PM at The Burnaby Pub in Greystones for a night of connection, laughter and festive fun!

 

Whether you’re a freelancer, small business owner, or creative independent, this is your invitation to celebrate the end of the year with kindred spirits. We’re celebrating early in the season, at the end of November, because a lot of creative entrepreneurs are very busy in December with Christmas markets and end of year orders.

 

Girl Moss Award

Special Feature: Every ticket holder is automatically entered for the Beneath the Canopy Award, affectionately known as the Girl Moss Award, to be presented on the night. Don’t be fooled by the name, both men and women can win the award.
