On Thursday, November 27th, Beneath the Canopy hosted its very first Christmas Party. A festive gathering designed especially for solo-entrepreneurs and micro-business owners in the area. When you work for yourself, you don’t get the traditional office Christmas party. No colleagues, no Secret Santa, no shared crackers at the lunch table. So we decided to create one ourselves. A chance for local entrepreneurs to celebrate together, connect, and enjoy a well-deserved evening of cheer.
A Night of Connection and Celebration
The Burnaby pub in Greystones provided the perfect cosy setting. With prosecco flowing, delicious finger food, and Christmas crackers filled with fun questions, the atmosphere was full of laughter and camaraderie.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of two special awards:
- The Girl Moss Award - presented to Lucy Anderson from Spark Real Joy, recognising her inspiring work and joyful energy.
- The Nature Connection Award - awarded to Saoirse Doyle from Cróga Comforts, celebrating her dedication to weaving nature into her business and community.
A Gift of Nature
To carry the spirit of the evening home, each entrepreneur left with a small plant — a living reminder to stay connected to nature during the darker, colder months of the year.
Looking Ahead
This was the very first Beneath the Canopy Christmas Party, and we hope it will become an annual tradition. Alongside festive gatherings, Beneath the Canopy continues to organise networking events throughout the year, offering small business owners opportunities to connect, share, and grow together.
