On Thursday, November 27th, Beneath the Canopy hosted its very first Christmas Party. A festive gathering designed especially for solo-entrepreneurs and micro-business owners in the area. When you work for yourself, you don’t get the traditional office Christmas party. No colleagues, no Secret Santa, no shared crackers at the lunch table. So we decided to create one ourselves. A chance for local entrepreneurs to celebrate together, connect, and enjoy a well-deserved evening of cheer.

People who follow us know that Cat has a passion for wild tea. But what is wild tea? Wild tea is tea made from plants that grow naturally in the wild. The ingredients are often foraged for, but Cat also grows a lot of her ingredients in her garden. This technically makes it not wild anymore, but it does make it safe and available.

Forest bathing started in Japan in the 1980’s. Since then, scientific studies have shown that it has lots of health benefits. So much so that is has become an accepted part of the Japanese preventative health care because of the positive effects on mental and physical health. On Saturday the 30th of August Orlagh Walsh and Cat de Wit officially launched their new business Beneath the Canopy. It was a joyful outdoor event at a private rewilding site near Cruagh in the Dublin Mountains, overlooking the city. Orlagh and Cat’s mission is to make nature connection easy, accessible, and affordable for everyone. Despite the unpredictable weather, attendees gathered for a morning filled with fun, laughter, and meaningful moments in nature.
